Obituary of Anna Magazzu-Trapani

Anna (Ann) Corrado Magazzu Trapani, 89, of Vineland, New Jersey, passed away on October 13, 2018 in Vineland, New Jersey. She was with her husband and two sons at the time of her death. Her passing followed a few weeks of illness during which Ann was visited by numerous family members and friends. Funeral service will be held at [LOCATION] on [DATE] at [TIME] with Reverend [NAME] of [CHURCH] officiating. Burial will follow at [CEMETERY NAME], [CEMETERY LOCATION]. Visitation will be held at [LOCATION] on Friday, October 19 at 7:00PM. Rone Funeral Services will be handling the funeral arrangements. Ann was was born in Camden, New Jersey to Aniello and Lucia Corrado on July 25, 1929. She went to high school at Camden High School and graduated in 1947. She went on to earn an Associates degree in business from Steelmans Business School in 1949. She worked as the financial controller for various businesses in Vineland for over ten years and then worked for almost twenty years as the secretary for the Law Offices of Joseph A. Magazzu. Ann overcame many challenges including twice surviving breast cancer from which she began a support group for cancer survivors; "Reach for Recovery" in the 1970's. Ann was also one of the founders of a fashion show which were held for several decades in Cumberland County benefiting cancer survivors. Ann was an integral part of the campaigns of her husband Joseph and son Louis from the 1972 until and including 2009. Ann delighted hosting parties at her house for friends and family as well as hosting Senators, Governors, Congressmen and local elected officials. But she loved most of all having her grandchildren and great grandson at her home. Ann received the Italian Heritage Foundation Spirit of Achievement award in 1997; was a founding member of the Foundation. Ann was involved in numerous charities and organizations. Ann is survived by her husband of 23 years, Joseph Trapani of Vineland, New Jersey. Ann is also survived by her sons Louis and Michael ; her step sons Jeff Trapani and Greg Trapani and his wife Tina; and her daughter in law Carmele Scarpa Magazzu. Ann is also surived by her grandchildren; Louis and his wife Dee, Jennifer, Joseph and his wife Amanda, Andrew, Juliana and Giovanna(Trapani). Ann is also survived by her great grandson Kieran Magazzu and numerous nieces, nephews and their children. Ann is preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Joseph A. Magazzu. Ann is also preceded in death by her parents, father in law and mother in law, Luciano and Giacomena Magazzu as well as her brothers, Salvatore, Carmen, Dominick, Joseph and Anthony and her sisters; Carmella, Marie and Susan.
