Obituary of Joseph Michael Battistini

Just a couple changes. Thank you! Joseph "Joe Batt" Battistini, 94, of Milmay, New Jersey passed away peacefully in his sleep, September 28th 2018 at his home. He was the son of Dominick and Mabel (Smaniotto) Battistini, and the only son of seven children. He began his earthly journey at his family's homestead in East Vineland and tended to their farm when he came of age. He continued on to become an equipment operator for Clem Lisinski before opening up the Harding House Restaurant with his wife Pauline in Buena, NJ. Even while managing their business, he found time to do the things he enjoyed most in life. He was the founding member of "The Molehole Gunning Club". In addition to being a member of the South Jersey Stock Car Association and co-owner of "The 3D" race car, he also enjoyed being a winning race horse owner. After 25 years as a successful restauranteur and serving some of the best crabs and spaghetti on the East Coast, he and Pauline decided to retire to their home in Milmay, NJ. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, tending to his garden, crabbing at his vacation home in Fenwick Island, DE, and cooking for his friends and family. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Pauline (Kupetz) Battistini, son Gary, granddaughter, Jacqueline and her husband Keram, grandson, Dominick, his sister, Gloria Bylone, his loving nieces and nephews, and the many other souls he touched in his life. He is preceded by daughter-in-law Dr. Michelle Battistini, and sisters, Marie Debbi, Elsie Bononcini, Elizabeth Ruggeri, Anne Battistini, and Minnie Molinelli. Funeral Home visitations will be held on Monday October 1, from 6pm to 8 pm and again Tuesday October 2, from 9:15 am to 10:15 am at Rone Funeral Service, Vineland. A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday October 2, at 11am from Saint Padre Pio Parish - Church Of Our Lady Of Pompeii, 4680 Dante Avenue, Vineland.
