Obituary of Chester P. Crowell

Chester P. Crowell, 84, of Minotola, passed away October 25 in SJRMC in Vineland. Born in Minotola he was a life long resident. Chester was a 1940 graduate of Vineland High School. He received an Honorable Discharge from the 127th Army Air Force during WWII. He attained the rank of corporal & received the American Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal & the WWII Victory Medal. Chester was first employed by South Jersey Power & Light then Atlantic City Electric. He retired in July 1991 after 49 yrs of service. His jobs ranged from lineman, to troubleshooter, to supervisor of underground services at the Winslow Operations Center. Chester was a coach for the Buena Boro Little League, an assistant Cub Pack leader & a scoutmaster for Troop 43 in Minotola. Chester was a member of the Minotola Fire Company for 66 yrs, serving as Chief for many of those years. He was a member & officer for the Minotola Rescue Squad & the Atlantic County Relief Association. Chester was the longest surviving member of the American Legion, Post 270, Minotola. He was a parishioner of St Michael's Church.
