Obituary of Laura A. Quairoli

Laura (Sterchele) Quairoli, 99, of Vineland passed away peacefully at her residence on Thursday evening, August 23, 2018. Laura was born in East Union Township, PA, a coal mining region located near Sheppton & Hazleton PA. Not long after her birth her family relocated to Vineland, NJ and began farming produce on Foster Ave near SW Blvd. As a child she attended Sacred Heart schools in Vineland and also worked on the family farm. In Dec. 1941 she married Ercole Quairoli, to whom she was married for 70 years. From 1941-1943 she traveled with her husband throughout the United States as he was stationed at various U.S. Army facilities. During her long life in Vineland, Laura's employers included a local clothing manufacturer and a glass manufacturer. She retired in 1983 from her position as a Cottage Supervisor at what was then known as the Vineland State School. Laura was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Vineland, and in addition to being a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Laura loved to garden and loved animals. She was predeceased by her parents, Paul and Sadie Sterchele, her sisters Anna Geraci and (twin sister) Norma Stanker, her brothers Jim Sterchele and John Sterchele, and her husband Ercole Quairoli. Laura is survived by three children, daughter Judith (Tim) Zatzariny, sons Edward (Sandra) Quairoli and Wayne Quairoli. Also three grandchildren, Tim Zatzariny Jr., Kristine Geck, Alison Quairoli, and three great grandchildren. Donations may be made to South Jersey Regional Animal Shelter, 1244 N.
