Obituary of John A. Propheita

John A. Propheita of Edgewater, Florida and formerly of Vineland, New Jersey, passed away on August 9, 2018 after an extended illness. John was born on June 29, 1938 in Vineland, New Jersey. John enjoyed traveling, (especially cruises), and cooking for family and friends. He also enjoyed gardening, going crabbing and he loved animals, especially his dog "Barney". Survivors include his loving wife, Tillie (Bassetti), of 60 years. His children, Thomas Propheita of Vineland and Marian George of Florida. His grandsons, Jesse George, Jr. and Brian George of Florida. His son in laws, Alex Ponichtera and Jesse George, Sr. His sister, Rochelle (Anthony) Tamburelli and Aunt Mary DiMatteo of Vineland. Sister in laws, Josephine Bocchetti, Sue Forcinito and Beatrice Bassetti. A Brother in law, Medio Bassetti. His cousins, Harry (Ruth) Susini, Carmen (Louise) Vastano, Dan (Sharon) Matarozzi and Gene Mainiero. Several nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his daughter, Lisa Ponichtera and his parents Thomas & Gertrude (Matarozzi) Propheita. Funeral arrangements by Rone Funeral Home. Family and friends will be received on Friday, August 17th at St. Isidore Church from 9:30 to 10:30 am. A mass immediately following. Interment will take place at Sacred Heart Cemetary.
