Obituary of Egidio E. "Jeano" Amici

Jeano Amici, 95, of Vineland passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 29, 2018 in his home. He was born to the late Victor and Caroline (Valdiserri) Amici in Landisville. He graduated from Vineland High School's class of 1940. After high school, he attended Rider College from 1940 - 1942. In 1943, Jeano enlisted in the Army Air Corps headquartered in Adak, Aleutian Island until 1946 and was a Technical Sergeant. Upon returning from WWII, he was employed with The Fox Company in Newfield for 42 years as Comptroller-Office Manager. He married Pearl (Lomonaco) Amici in 1952. Jeano was a member of Sacred Heart Church - Christ The Good Shepherd Parish. He served 2 terms on the Buena Vista School Board and the VFW. He was a member of the Lions Club for over 35 years and was appointed Financial Secretary for 8 years. He was also involved with East Vineland Little League and the Babe Ruth League. Jeano was a member of the National Federation of the Blind. He attended classes and became a Master Gardener in Cumberland County. Jeano enjoyed playing golf and yard work. He especially enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. On Saturday nights, Jeano and Pearl enjoyed going out to dinner, socializing, dancing, and visiting casinos. The family usually took yearly vacations within the USA and also Italy. He is lovingly survived by and sadly missed by his son Richard Amici (Linda Loetell) and daughter Marcia Amici (Valerie); grandchildren, Christopher, Jesse, and Mariette Amici; grandcats Rocco, Mookie, and Twinkle; granddogs Ratchet and Tytin. He will be lovingly remembered by his special friend and companion Marie Lezan and family friend and caretaker Ed Maddalena. In addition he will be missed by his sister-in-law Rose Piccinni and cousins Albert, Robert, & Carl Norton, Richard Cervini, Thomas Cervini & Steven Cervini, Lois Cervini-Samilenko, Bonnie (Cervini) McCann, and Betty (Amici) Larson. Jeano was predeceased by his parents and in 2000 by his wife Pearl (Lomonoco) Amici. A church visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:30am to 11:15am followed by a funeral mass at 11:30 am from Christ The Good Shepherd Parish - Church Of Sacred Heart, 1010 East Landis Avenue, Vineland. Entombment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Vineland.
