Obituary of Vincent "Sonny" L. Consalo Sr.

Vincent "Sonny" L. Consalo Sr. of Landisville died Wednesday July 18th 2018. He was born in Medford, New Jersey, resided in Glassboro and moved to Landisville in 1955. He was a 1949 graduate of Glassboro High School. He proudly served in the United States Army and also served during the Korean War. He was President of Consalo Farms, Vice President of William Consalo and Sons and Secretary of WCS Trucking. He was a member of the United Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Association for the state of New Jersey, the Produce Marketing Association, the Canadian Produce Marketing Association, the New Jersey Farm Bureau, the Cumberland County Board of Agriculture, the Atlantic Board of Agriculture, the New Jersey Vegetable Growers Association, the New Jersey Peach Growers Association, the Landisville Fruit Growers Association, the New Jersey Motor Truck Association and Vineland Chamber of Commerce. He was also a member of the St. Anthony's Society in Glassboro and the Finance Committee for Our Lady of Victory's Parish. He was awarded the Chamber of Commerce Outstanding Agriculture Business Award and United Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Association. He spent many years as a buyer at the Swedesboro auction. He was highly respected by all who knew him. He was a member of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Parish (St. Michael's Church). He was an avid hunter and gun collector and a member of the NRA. He loved wood working in his own wood working shop. He enjoyed traveling in his RV motor home and visited all 50 states, 49 by RV. Vincent "Sonny" is survived by his spouse Hope of 66 years and 8 months. He went to be with the Lord two days shy of his 88 birthday. His son Vincent Jr. and daughter in law Diana (DeSantis), his daughter Deborah, his son Robert and daughter in law Kathy (Newcomb), daughter in law Karen (Formisano), his grandchildren Jonathan Consalo and wife Dana (Pepe), Kevin Consalo and wife Lisa (Villecco), Lisa Consalo, Tommy Consalo, Robert Consalo Jr. and wife Deandra (Leone), Jennifer Consalo, Marissa Consalo, Gianna Consalo, his great grandchildren Isabella, Adam, Cassandra and Lennyn. His sister Elaine D'Ottavio, sister in law Mildred Consalo and many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his son Thomas "Tommy" Consalo, his parents William and Louise Consalo, brothers William (Bill), Anthony (Andy) and sister in law Barbara, Augustus (Augie) and sister in law Dorothy (Dot), sister Philamena (Phil) and brother in law Peter (Pete) Giunta and brother in law Ronald (Ronnie) D'Ottavio.
