Obituary of Anna Simoni
Anna Graiff Simoni, 101, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, July 13, 2018. She was the last surviving child of Felix and Josephine (Menapace) Graiff. Anna was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt. She was known as "Aunt Annie" to many. She and her beloved husband Caesar, who passed away in November, 1999 after fifty-nine years of marriage, worked side by side on the family farm until they retired in 1978. They enjoyed many years at their summer home in Avalon fishing, crabbing and clamming and entertaining family and friends. Anna was an excellent cook and baker; everyone loved her pies and delicious Christmas cookies, stollen and fruit cakes. Anna loved to work in her yard, planting flowers and caring for a vegetable garden until last year. Most of all Anna loved her family and enjoyed interacting with them.
Anna is survived by her daughter Patricia de Jong and husband Robert and her son James and wife Bobbi and her grandchildren Eric (Sarah), Krista (Ron) Marc (Kathy), James (Meghan), David (Alaina) and Emily. She is survived by great grandchildren, Luke, Riley, Kaitlin, Holden, Cara, Julia, Dylan, Caroline and Scarlett. Anna is also survived by her sister-in-law, Rose Graiff,
and many loving nieces and nephews.
Anna is predeceased by her parents, Felix and Josephine (Menapace) Graiff, husband Caesar, granddaughter Janna Simoni and brothers Victor, Primo, David and Angelo and sisters, Rena Rados, Pauline Dellago, Aldina Scalfo, Louise Bonvicin and Emma Gabordi
Many thanks to Anna's caregivers Elena, Joan, Neide and Ronnie and to Journey Hospice and their caring nurses, aides and support staff.
