Obituary of Isadore Edelstein
Isadore "Itz" Edelstein, 95, of Norma, New Jersey passed away on Monday, June 4, 2018. He was born October 18, 1922 to the late Esther and Samuel Edelstein in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He grew up and lived most of his life in Norma, New Jersey. Four years ago he moved to Spring Oak Assisted Living in Vineland. Itz was a proud Veteran serving as Sergeant in the United States Army Air Forces with tours in Saipan and Iwo Jima. He was a proud founding member of Norma-Alliance Volunteer Fire and Rescue. Itz worked at Food Fair, Farmer's Co Op, Berkowitz Feed and Mayerfeld Farms. He also worked as a security guard at various high school sporting events and at Cowtown Rodeo. In his earlier years he loved to ride on his motorcycle, take rides on his boat and go to the campground with his camper. He also enjoyed watching car racing on TV and listen to his favorite country music.
Itz is survived by his nieces and nephews, Larry and Sue Edelstein, Beverly Rief, Hope & Larry Wescott, Scott & Sally Edelstein and Robin & Alan Frank. He is also survived by many great and great- great nieces and nephews. Itz was predeceased by his sisters and brothers, Mary Edelstein Schwartz, Rose Edelstein Levine, Stanley Edelstein, Herman Edelstein, Frances Edelstein Kurland, Edna Edelstein, Nathan Edell and his niece Edna Levine. A graveside service and burial will be held on Wednesday evening at 5:30 PM conducted by Rabbi Yisroel Rapoport at the Alliance Cemetery in Norma.
