Our heartfelt condolences go out to Marie and her entire family. It's said many times but he is in a better place now. We always loved talking to him, never failing to make us feel better with his quick wit and jokes. He certainly will be missed! God bless him and may he rest in peace.

It was a distinct pleasure to have spent three semesters in Prof. Adair's classes. It was an unforgettable experience. I consider him one of the most stimulating teachers I have had in 70+ years of education. His love of the classroom, of teaching, and new batches of students was evident and a joy. He will certainly be missed by many. I offer my sincere condolences to his family.

I was praying that what I was reading was a dream. I had the pleasure of being in class with Mr. Adair last semester. I was truly looking forward to taking 102 with him this upcoming semester.
Mr. Adair I will really miss you. You were a wonderful teacher who loved to play a strict role, however you were a true softy. A wonderful man. I am honored to say I too was taught by the best English Professor anywhere!
RIP

Mr. Adair was my first professor at Cumberland County College in my first class. I can honestly say he was my favorite professor there. I always had a good rapport with him in class, and he even talked me into taking his English Literature class although I hated Shakespeare! He made it fun though, and he made a tough class for me seem easier. I am very saddened to hear of his passing. He will be missed.

"Adair" was my first English professor. He was also my daughter's first English Professor. We both graduated college (I teach English). My daughter and I also enjoyed visiting him after we left Cumberland just to joke around with him, and maybe pick on him a little. He was a great guy! Rest in Peace John Adair. You will be missed.

Mere words do not express the emotion felt at the passing of Professor John Adair. He was a mentor and a friend, and he will be greatly missed. A more professional, kind, and generous person one could never hope to meet. Marie, our heartfelt condolences are given to you with our prayers for comfort and remembrance of his fantastic life. I have no doubts that John is now debating rhyme and meter with the likes of Shakespeare and Byron. God speed to you Professor Adair and thank you.

My deepest condolences to the Adair family. Mr. Adair was my English 101 professor in 1994, and I remember his class like it was yesterday. I contribute my college writing success to him (2 master degrees and currently in a PhD program! He helped me organize my thoughts, write about them for days, and of course helped me stop with the common splices! I was so proud when I finally earned an A/A instead of a C/A. Mr. Adair I salute you and thank you for your dedication to your students. You earned an A+/A+, Sir.
