Obituary of Marie A. Derby

Marie (Meneghetti) Derby was called home to our Lord at the Inspira medivcal Center in Vineland following a courageous battle with cancer on July 9, 2017. Marie was born on July 7, 1938 in the small coal-mining town of Dominion #1 in Novia Scotia, Canada. She came to the US at six months of age. Marie and her family settled in Vineland where she met the love of her life. Mariewas educated in the Sacred heart school system. She went on to nursing school and became an LPN. She nursed at various hospitals in the South jersey area becoming a critical care nurse in the post- ICU floor of Newcomb Hospital for the last 17 years of her nursing career. She was a dedicated and caring nurse noted for the sharpness of her nursing attire and her always freshly polishe nursing shoes. marie retired in December of 1994 due to serious health issues. Marie enjoyed cooking, cleaning her home, bargain shopping and dancing. She enjoyed eatching Dancing with the Stars on television. She often said that she would have liked to be on that program.Marie served as an elder of the memorial Presbyterain Church in Vineland. She was a member of the Republican Women's Club and was a Republican Committeewomen.
