Obituary of Stephen S. Hamburger

Stephen Samuel Hamburger, 77, of Vineland, NJ passed away on February 7, 2017 in Voorhees, NJ. He will be dearly missed by his relatives and dear friends. A funeral service will be held at Rone Funeral Home on February 10, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. with Rabbi Winter of Congregation Beth Israel officiating. The burial will follow at Alliance Cemetery in _____, NJ. Stephen was born in Philadelphia, PA to his loving parents, Greta and Kurt Hamburger, on June 13, 1939. He graduated with a bachelors degree in elementary education from Glassboro State College and taught at Dane Barse Elementary and D'Ippoliti Intermediate School and received the Teacher of the Year award. Stephen was a volunteer and a member of the Board of Directors for the Beth Isreal Congregation for many years. He devoted his life after his retirement to helping others and to his many hobbies, which included international travel, woodworking, metalworking and gardening. Stephen is survived by his cousins, Fay and Marlene Kessler, Linda, Don, Elizabeth and Robert Crews and Carole and Terence Jackson and Nicole Buchman. His family wants to extend their gratitude to all of his friends, including fellow congregants at Beth Israel. Memorial donations may be made to Congregation Beth Israel (add address).
