Obituary of Gilbert P. Mazzoni

Gilbert Mazzoni, 82, peacefully left this world to be with his Lord and wife Barbara on Jan. 19, 2017 with his family by his side. Gilbert is survived by his 2 sons, Dennis and daughter in law, Donna of Laureldale and David of Delaware; and 1 brother, Henry. He is predeceased by his parents, Ubaldo and Giovanna, his wife, Barbara, his daughter, Denise, sisters, Lillian Mazzoni, Doris Martinelli, and Josephine DeLucia Gilbert was a life long resident of Buena Boro. He was a Councilman of Buena Boro, a member of the American Legion Post 270, former Board of Director of Landisville Fruit Growers and a member of Vineland Produce Auction. He was a Korean War Veteran, serving with the 2nd Armored Division in the Occupation of Germany as a specialist 4th class International Morse Code Operator. He was awarded a Good Conduct Medal, Occupation of Germany medal and The National Defense Medal. He is a member of the 2nd Armored Division (Hell on Wheels) Association. A farmer in his early years he also worked for Pedroni Fuel Company for 28 years. In his retirement years he helped his son Dennis on the farm and worked 16 years as a loader in the Aviation Department of NJ Forest Fire Service. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. A member of the Penny Pot Ten Hunting club. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Gilbert's memory to the American Lung Association or the American Heart Association. Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 at Our Lady of Victories Church
