Peter B Catania posted a condolence
Saturday, April 23, 2022
My name is Peter B Catania, I just came across this about about Stephen because my wife is doing ancestry, I was very young when I knew him and his wife JoAnn. He was a part of my Dad’s bowling team called the Captains, if I remember correctly a very huge part because of his very good bowling ability. Him and his wife were not only relatives but very good friends of my parents. I remember many times we would visited my dad’s grandparents who lived upstairs and they lived downstairs.
I never knew about his military background, when I read it being a veteran myself I am very proud of the fact he was a member of my family.
It’s never to late to send my sympathy to the family, so I just want to say that I’m very sorry for
your loss of both Stephen and JoAnn, it was an honor and a pleasure knowing them and seeing them when I grew up.
Respectfully yours,
My grandmother was Lena sister of JoAnn.
Respectfully yours,
Peter and Sharon Catania
If anyone can share anything about the family, please do not hesitate to get in touch with me. I would love to hear any stories and information about our family.

It is with the utmost sympathy that I express my sincere condolences to Margaret and the entire Acocella family.
I was "shocked" when I read the paper this morning (Monday)of the passing of my dear friend and patriot, Steve, especially just after being with him at the Memorial Day ceremony at Landis Park. I first met Steve at the Newcomb Hospital Rehab Center when we were both recuperating from an illness--we have remained close and dear friends ever since. I have never met a man of such integrity, honor and love of country, family and fellow man as Steve. I could go on and on but I'm sure I would just be repeating more of the sentiments of all those that knew him. I will miss him dearly, especially at the Services in Landis Park in memory of our fellow Patriots who have gone before us--in closing, let me sum it up by remarks I often use to deserving individuals--Life lived with love of family, friends and country has many rewards, Steve had them all---RIP, my dear friend.

We will miss a member of our extended family with the passing of Mr. Acocella. As a young boy I had found memories of Steve and his wife going to the beach with our family and hiding from the itsy bitsy spider that Steven sang to me as a giggled and laughed. Later growing up I came to appreciate his friendship to my father and their endearing bond as Marines who served so valiantly throughout the Pacific and at the bombing of Pearl. I am thankful to have known Steve and the light he always brought to those he meant. Your smile and encouragement are treasures for all of us to remember. I am sure Steve and my dad are smiling with Christ as they look upon us to finish our course victoriously.

http://www.ronefuneralservice.com/files/arrangement/themes/gestures/images/Candle.png You have only been family to me for a short time but I am so glad to have the time I've spent with you. Philip is grieving but finds peace that you will reunite with you wife and his mother. You will be missed and so will your stories. Rest in peace. We love you.
