i did not know Lurie for long, but the time I spent with her was memorable. While she was, amazing doesn't begin to cover it but, an amazing chef she was a great friend. One you just knew you would have forever. I am truly sorry the world has lost such an amazing person. My condolences to the family during this hard time.

Last year we were lucky to meet Lurie. She was a great person and chef. We first stayed at the Audubon Inn a year ago and one of the many treasures we found in Mayville was Lurie. It saddened us to think that she will not be there on our stay this coming April. She always found the time to come out and say hello and make you feel special. It was truly her personality and cooking that were special. The Audubon Inn was lucky to employ her which helped put them on the map in our opinion. We are glad she made it back to New Orleans. We thank Keith for letting us know of her passing. He is well aware of her part of the ambiance at the Audubon Inn. She will be greatly missed.

Her obituary barely does her life justice. Lurie lived. She lived as anyone infected by New Orleans. Every day, she lived as though the world could be washed away the next. I will miss her terribly, as her life enriched mine and all those around her. I wish comfort to her family, especially Sue and Mike, who suffer without her presence. I hope our pleasant memories and kind words shelter you from some of the pain this brings. May you know no more sadness.

Lurie was a unique and remarkably talented woman who made a significant impact on our staff, our hotel & restaurant guests, and many community members of Mayville, Wisconsin. The success of our business owes a great deal to her creativity and determination. We are stunned and saddened by her passing, but grateful for the opportunity to have met her and shared experiences that we will always remember. We offer our sincere and heartfelt condolences to her friends and family who carry on her memory as we do.

Lurie would accomplish more in a week than I could in ten years. You always gained inspiration from Her. She never made excuses, only found solutions. Always knew the path to take. She had a very special insight.
