Obituary of Joyce Ann Curley

Joyce Ann Curley, 76, of Vineland, passed away on September 4th, 2014 at home, in the comforting presence of her husband Harry and her beloved cats. Content with a life well-lived and ready to enter into the loving presence of our Lord, Joyce willingly gave up her hard fought battle with cancer and surrendered her spirit into His care. Visitation will be held at Rone Funeral Home on Chestnut Avenue in Vineland on Monday, September 8th from 6-8pm. On Tuesday, September 9th, visitation will be held at Our Lady of Pompeii Church, Padre Pio Parish from 10-11:00am with a funeral mass immediately following. Father Pete Saporito will officiate the Mass and burial will follow at St. Mary's Church Cemetery on Union Road in East Vineland. Joyce was born in Vineland to Jesse and Vivian (Bertonazzi) Piccioni on October 17th, 1937. She went to high school in Vineland where she graduated and went on to attend Montclair State University. After earning a degree in Education, she returned to her hometown to teach History at her alma mater. She would continue to teach at Vineland High School for 33 years before retiring to enjoy golfing with friends and time well-spent in sunny Florida. Joyce was involved for many years in the Vineland Women's Club and the Vineland Stamp Club. She had many talents and hobbies about which she was very passionate including, needle-point, quilting, stamp collecting, painting, gardening and cooking. She was also very well known for sneaking her three great grandchildren M & Ms before suppertime! Joyce was blessed to have a large and extended family and is survived by her husband of 41 years, Harry Curley Sr; son Harry (Nancy) Curley Jr; daughter Jill (Joseph) Baruffi and son Timothy (Ann) Curley; six grandchildren Rochelle Curley, Christa (Nicholas) Capriotti, Shannon (John) St. Clair, Jenna (Justen) Talarico, Nicole Curley and Lisa Curley; those three special great grandchildren Gianna and Gino Capriotti and Connor St. Clair; and many beloved cousins and friends. Memorial donations in memory of Joyce Curley may be made to the American Cancer Society and all arrangements are under the supervision of Rone Funeral Service, 1110 East Chestnut Avenue, Vineland.
