My deepest condolences to Gloria, Nancy, Claude and the Daughters of Our Lady of Mercy on the passing of Sr. Annunziata. I was her secretary the 2 times she was principal at St. Philip's. I have many fond and personal memories of "Nunzie" that I will carry with me. I was also saddened to hear of Lu's passing. Watch over us from above "Nunzie".

Sister was a dear friend to my mother, Violet Notto. They met when Sister was at St. Philip's in Brigantine. Through the years they wrote to each other, a lost art! My mother so looked forward to Sister's letters. When my mother died last year, I started writing to Sister and how I also looked for her letters. Sister helped me get through a difficult time. She will be truly missed. I was blessed to have known her if only for a short time.May she rest in peace in the arms of our Lord.

I'm so sorry to hear of Sr. Annunziata's passing. I always remember walking into her room for religion class as a freshman in 1998 and having her tell the class she was in a belligerent mood today. :-) I think of her any time I use that phrase, even 16 years later. I loved hearing all of her stories about her family and past as she related them to her class lessons. Even though she hasn't taught at OLMA for many years, she'll continue to be missed.

I have been writing to Sister for years now. My husband, William(Bill) worked at Saint Philllips teaching piano, and that is where I first met her. She hugged me once, and it was such a powerful feeling of the surge of spirit in action. I loved her. We both did. There are not enough words I can think of to express how great a gift to myself, and countless others Sister Annunziata was. She had recenlty written me about her sisters passing, and I saved all her letters, as I felt they had such positive energy. She was kind enough to knit us two afghans, which I know they are healing, as they carry her energy, which I call 'Sister Blankets" and use on a daily basis. I am so sorry for not only my loss, my husbands--she was a great friend to both of us, but for the family, and for all the people whose lives she touched. She lived her life in such a way, that while we rejoiced while she was with us, heaven is shinning a little brighter now.God blessed us with her.
