Obituary of Barbara Ambrose

Barbara Ambrose, 72, of Vineland passed away on Monday, September 6, 2010 at her home. She was born in Toledo, Ohio to the late Arlene G. (Wood) and Reginald A. Bourne before moving to Vineland in 1966 where she remained a long time resident. Before her retirement at age 65 she was employed with the Millville Hospital and South Jersey Regional Medical Center as a medical transcriber. She was past president and long time member of the Cape Shore Chorus that is affiliated with Sweet Adeline's International. Barbara loved singing and sang with the Singing Ambassadors for many years upon her arrival to Vineland. She enjoyed gardening and working with flowers, bird watching and collecting antique china. She especially enjoyed traveling with the singing group. She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Philip D. Ambrose of Vineland; her son and his wife Jeffrey and Deborah Myers of Parsippany; her daughter and her husband Lori and Thomas Gavin of Delhaven; her son, Reginald Myers of Toledo, Ohio; step-son and wife, Philip and Teresa Ambrose; step- daughter and husband, Mary and Louis DiOrio; stepdaughter and husband, Patricia and Paul Peterson, all of Milmay; sister and her husband Betty and Bob Willson of Toledo, Ohio; several nieces and nephews; 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. One granddaughter predeceased Barbara. A funeral home visitation will be held on Friday from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Rone Funeral Service, followed by a funeral service to be held at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Siloam Cemetery, Vineland.
