Obituary of Denis Barse Sr.

Denis Enrico Barse, Sr. 75 of Vineland passed away on Wednesday morning July 10, 2013, after an extended illness. Denis was one of two brothers born to the late Josephine (Simi) and Dane Barse. He was born and raised in Vineland and attended Sacred Heart Grammar School, the Delbarton Academy of Morristown and Saint Francis College of Loretto, Pennsylvania. Denis was a longtime resident of Vineland and lived abroad in Italy, as well as in Avalon, Newfield, and Seminole, Florida. Denis was predeceased by his brother Dr. Frank Barse of Haddonfield. He is survived by his wife Nicoletta (Bianco) Barse, sons Dane, John and wife Lori (Anstett), Frank, Denis Jr. and wife Krista (Williams), Michael and wife Erin (Durfee) and grandchildren Nicholas and Gabriella. Denis struggled throughout his life with epilepsy. He overcame this handicap and raised a large family, which he considered his greatest achievement. He generally lived his life with zest, traveling to Europe and the Middle East as well as engaging as an entrepreneur. Denis was a member of Knights of Columbus Vineland Council 2531, serving as Grand Knight and Faithful Navigator of the Bishop John Carroll Assembly. He was devoted to The Blessed Mother and The Blessed Pope John Paul II, praying the Rosary often. He was an extraordinarily generous man who gave regularly to many charities, in the same spirit as his father
