Obituary of Mary Louise Gervato

Mary Louise Gervato, 96, passed away Friday evening at Bishop McCarthy Residence. She was born in 1916 in West Virginia and lived in Brooklyn, New York until moving to Vineland with her husband in the late 1940's. After graduating from a technical school in Brooklyn, she began her career as a beautician. She was a self employed beautician and later was employed as a staff beautician at the Vineland Development Center until her retirement in 1981. Mary was a loving and devoted wife and mother who encouraged her children and relatives to be all they could. She was intelligent and thoughtful. She was an excellent baker and enjoyed creative activities such as painting, arts and crafts, and crochet. Her favorite activity at Bishop McCarthy was bingo! Mary was pre-deceased by her husband, Dominic, in 1985 after 46 years of marriage. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Lorraine and Ronald Haucke of Monroe Twp., NJ and her Daughter Teresa Kravitz of Brooklyn, NY and several nieces and nephews. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lorraine and Ronald Haucke, Monroe Twp., NJ; and daughter Teresa Kravitz., Brooklyn, NY. A church visitation will be held on Tuesday July 9, 2013, from 12:45pm to 1:45pm followed by a funeral liturgy at 2pm from Christ The Good Shepherd Parish - Church Of Saint Isidore The Farmer, 1655 Magnolia Road, Vineland. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Vineland.
