Deep peace of the running wave to you; Deep peace of the flowing air to you; Deep peace of the quiet earth to you; Deep peace of the shining stars to you. (Bill Douglas) I enjoyed knowing Harry, and I offer condolences to his family and friends.

I remember meeting Harry when I was chair of the Department of Secondary Education/Foundations of Education about 10 years ago. He had a little test for me: "I'll bet you don't know what pectin is." Fortunately, my mother had been a high school home ec teacher and I not only knew what pectin is, I could also tell him its role in human digestion. He was surprised, and I had the impression he was not often surprised by his colleagues. He was one of those characters that gave Rowan a unique academic ambience. May he rest in well-earned peace.

I first met Dr. Gershenowitz in my role as librarian. I very much appreciated his diligence in pursuing his research and his desire to share his knowledge with others. My husband and I are pleased to have known him and express our sympathy to his family and friends.

I would like to extend my sincere sympathy to the family of Mr. Gershenowitz in this time of sorrow. May God's promise of a resurrection for all our loved ones (John 5:28) bring you comfort, and the righteous conditions foretold in Psalms 37:9-11 give you an encouraging hope for the future.
