Obituary of Nancy Paul
Nancy Paul, aged 88, died peacefully on May 28, 2013 in her home at 1125 E. Park Avenue in Vineland, NJ, of heart disease. She was born on April 18, 1925, the daughter of Phillip and Mary Lippman.
She graduated from Temple University as a Registered Dietician and married Donald Paul in 1948. They had three children. After living for a year in Philadelphia, they moved to Mt. Carmel PA, where they owned and operated a children's clothing store, the Dawn Shop. In 1959, they relocated to Vineland, in order to Don to return to his first love, teaching. In 1960, Nancy began working as a Home Economics teacher at Memorial Junior High School and Vineland High School. During her years at Vineland Public Schools, she developed a program for pregnant teens that aimed to provide services to keep them in school during their pregnancy. She retired from teaching in 1984. Following her retirement, she earned her license as a Registered Nurse and worked as a substitute school nurse in the Vineland Public Schools, and volunteered in a third grade classroom. She was widowed in 1991, and preceded in death by her children Mayor and Phyllis Paul.
Nancy was an active member of Beth Israel synagogue. She is survived by her sister, Judy Bravman, her daughter, Rhea Paul and grandchildren William, Martin, and Aviva Isenberg. Funeral services will be held at Rone Funeral Home on Thursday May 30 at 1 pm, with services presided over by Rabbi Joshua Winter. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation be made to Beth Israel synagogue, 1015 Park Ave., Vineland.
