Obituary of Walter Zachar

Walter Zachar, 88, passed away on Sunday, November 22, 2009. He was born in Liviv, Ukraine to the late Michael and Helena Zachar. Walter moved to Vineland in 1949 and has resided here since that time. He was employed at Snyders Bakery at 8th and Landis and was also employed with Zucca's bakery many years before his retirment. He was a member of the St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church and was very involved in all church activities. He was a member of the Ukrainian American Men's Club in Millville. Walter enjoyed gardening and working around the house and spending time with family and friends. Surviving are his daughters Marie and husband John Casadia of Vineland and Diane and her husband Ken Fagerlund of Vineland; sister Anna of the Ukraine,, 2 step-sisters and one step-brother of the Ukraine; grandson David Casadia and grandson John Casadia who was his care giver for the last ten years; grandchildren Ken and Cindy Fagerlund; and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Walter was predeceased by his wife Anna (Huriluk) Zachar; brother Nicholas and sister Olga.
