Obituary of Angelo Martino

Angelo Martino, 90, of Vineland, peacefully passed away Thursday, January 3, 2013 at home with his loving family by his side. He was born in Vineland to Rosario and Francesca (Marone) Martino. From an early age, Angelo worked together with his family on their farm. In the off season of the farm he worked as a plumber, and later in his career he worked in union maintenance at the Atlantic City Race Course. Angelo was a volunteer firefighter for the East Vineland Co. 5 Fire Department for 28 years. He was an active parishioner at Our Lady of Pompeii Church ( St. Padre Pio Parish), a member of the Sicilian-American Club, Vineland Senior Citizen Club and a member of Local Union 172. Angelo loved life and enjoyed being surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was an avid gardener nad prided himself on raising tomatoes that were used to make the family's homemade tomato sauce. Angelo also raised figs and grapes that he and his beloved wife would share with their family. Angelo enjoyed traveling, cooking, singing and especially being with his grandchildren and great-grandsons.
