Samuel E. "Ed" Stevenson Jr, 85, of Vineland, formerly of Hammonton, passed away peacefully, with family by his side, on November 19, 2023, at The New Jersey Veterans Memorial Home at Vineland. Ed was born in Collingswood, NJ to Samuel E. Stevenson Sr and Anna M. Maul Stevenson on May 31, 1938. He was a graduate of Collingswood High School in 1957. Ed went on to serve the United States Air Force from 1957 to 1961 as an Aerospace Control and Warning (AC&W) systems specialist and continued his service in the Air Force Reserves from 1961 to 1963. He was a shipping and receiving professional at Lenox China in Pomona, NJ for over 25 years and drove a school bus for the Vineland School District upon approaching retirement age. Ed enjoyed fishing, drafting, and woodworking. He was especially well-known as a talented trumpet player for the Tommy Darro Orchestra out of Mt Laurel, NJ for almost 30 years. Ed is survived by his daughters, Betty E. Ordille of Hammonton, and Sandra L. Smith (Jack) of Buena; his son Jeff Stevenson (Debbie) of Egg Harbor Township; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren, and former wife and friend Annie (Reenie) Dalley (Ted). He was predeceased by his parents Samuel and Anna Stevenson, and grandchild Charles J. Restuccio. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the care teams of The New Jersey Veterans Memorial Home Vineland, Inspira Medical Center Vineland, and Gloucester County Hospice Bayada at Inspira.
