Obituary of Gonzalo Sola Sr.

Our beloved father and patriarch, Gonzalo Sola Sr., of Vineland, New Jersey, passed away on Wednesday, November 01, 2023 after a long illness. Gonzalo worked at Progresso Foods in Vineland for over 20 years. He loved to cook and was affectionately known for his annual Father's Day pig roasts, homemade pasteles and tasty coquito that he made during the holidays. Gonzalo was a sports fan with baseball being his favorite. His all time favorite team, win or lose, was the Philadelphia Phillies. Gonzalo was predeceased by his beloved wife of over 40 years, Laura Ann Sola; his son, Gonzalo Sola Jr.; and his two grandsons, Michael Paul Batie and Daniel Mark Bryant. He will be sadly missed by his four children, Isabella Peyton (Vineland, NJ), Antonio Sola (Minotola, NJ), Michael Sola (Vineland, NJ), and Shirley Ann Sola (Minotola, NJ). He also had two stepdaughters, Antoinette Williams (Spring City, PA) and Felicia Rodriguez (Newark, DE). Gonzalo will also be missed by his brother, Manuel Sola, (Vineland, NJ), and two sisters Lola SolaDiaz (Caguas, PR), and Maria SolaDiaz (Jersey City, NJ); 17 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. A funeral home visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 from 9am to 11am promptly followed by a funeral service at 11am from Rone Funeral Service, 1110 East Chestnut Avenue, Vineland. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Vineland.
