Obituary of Eleanor Capabianco

Eleanor (Newton) Capabianco of Vineland, passed away on July 8, 2023, she was born In Pottsville, PA. Her family moved to Vineland when she was 3 months old and she was raised in Vineland with her two brothers and three sisters. She graduated with honors from Sacred Heart High School, Class of 1955. She worked at Kimble Glass as a secretary for 12 years until the births of her two daughters. She chose to be a stay-home mother for seven years. Later she took a temporary job at Landis Middle School so she could be with her children when they got home from school and for summers. Eleanor continued working for Vineland Public Schools food services and became the head cook. She retired after 27 years of service. Eleanor loved to laugh, read, and cook. She loved life, family parties, playing in the snow, traveling, and drinking wine with her husband, Frank, with whom she was married for sixty-two years. She was the best wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved to travel to California and Arizona; she spent summer vacations in Ocean City and took many trips to Lancaster, PA. She loved horse racing and traveled to many states to watch the races even though her biggest bet was only $2.00. Eleanor loved all animals and had many dogs and cats throughout her life. She is survived by her husband Frank Capabianco; two daughters Kathleen Peaschek (Brian Payne) of Marmora and Diane Rakotz (Todd) of Vineland; five grandchildren, Samantha Peaschek, Nicolas Rakotz, Anthony Rakotz, Alexandra Payne, and Christopher Payne; in-laws Josephine Savino (Peter), Maryann McCaffrey (Jim), Rocco Capabianco (Rosemarie), and many nieces and nephews from the Newton and Capabianco families. She was predeceased by her parents Raymond and Mary (McAnanny) Newton; brothers and sisters, Patrick, Jack, Anna, Margaret, and Elizabeth, and her sister-in-law Rose Marie DeFranceso. A special thank you to Journey's Hospice Care, especially Nurse Nicole and her homecare aides Casey, Janet, and Paula. A church visitation will be held on Thursday, July 13, 2023 from 10am to 11am followed by a funeral mass at 11:15 am from St Padre Pio Parish- Church of Our Lady Of Pompeii, 4680 Dante Avenue, Vineland, NJ. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Vineland.
