Rhoda Bell Levin On August 21st, 2018 Rhoda Levin, 86, of Bonita Springs, Florida passed peacefully with her loving family by her side. Rhoda was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA and was also a resident of Vineland before making Bonita Springs, Florida her permanent residence. She was a graduate of Simon Gratz High School in North Philadelphia. She went on to earn a prestigious scholarship in order to begin her college career at Moore College of Art and Design. A very gifted artist with a special flare in embroidery and sewing, Rhoda earned both a Bachelor's and Master's in the fields of Art and Education. At a young age she met her husband of over 55 years Bernard Levin of Vineland whom she fell deeply in love with and moved to Vineland with. Together Bernie and Rhoda had two children, Ellen and Murray. She was very dedicated to her family as well as her career. As head of the Art Department at the former Training School of Vineland, she was especially compassionate and nurturing towards her students. She was very well known for her free, strong-willed, and warm spirit that left an impression on all whom met her. She enjoyed spending her time in Bonita Springs, traveling to SoHo NY and Cape May NJ, visiting museums, attending plays, reading, gardening, and making art. Most of all she especially loved and enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was truly a wonderful and loving Sister, Wife, Mother, Mother-in-law, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, and Friend. Rhoda is pre-deceased by her loving husband, Bernie Levin of Vineland, NJ. As well as her parents Morris Schwartz and her mother Sonya (Margolis) Schwartz of Philadelphia. Her sister Sibil Schwartz of Philadelphia, and brother Lenny Schwartz (wife, Sandy) of Philadelphia. Rhoda is survived by her brother David Schwartz and his wife Carol of Tabernacle, NJ. Her son and daughter-in-law Murray and Lucia Levin, her daughter and son-in-law Ellen and Richard Wachtel of Kfar Yona, Israel, her three grandsons Sam Levin and his wife Robyn of Philadelphia, Scott Goldstein and his wife Zahava of Canada, Robbie Goldstein of Jerusalem and her granddaughter and her fiancé Lisa Levin and Zac of Philadelphia. Two great grandchildren, Yehuda and Ben of Canada. Along with many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. A private celebration of her life will be held at the discretion of Rhoda's immediate family.
