Obituary of John Nye

John D. Nye, 36, passed away suddenly on May 17, 2017 in Raleigh, North Carolina. John was born in Fort Chafee, AR and raised in Vineland, NJ. He was a 2000 graduate of Vineland High School and served his country honorably as a member of the United States Marine Corp from 2000 to 2006. John had an adventurous spirit and was never afraid to take on a challenge. He especially loved being out on the dance floor whether it was for a West Coast Swing competition or just a small gathering. He was a loving father, son, and brother who had a beautiful smile and a large and generous heart. He will be deeply missed by his heartbroken family and many friends. He is survived by his mother Mary Jane McGinnis of Vineland, his father Derek Nye and stepmother Aileen Privitera of Egg Harbor Township, his sisters Anne Ino and Virginia of Vineland, sister Martha of Ocean Grove, NJ, younger brother Jimmy of Columbia, SC, step-sister Adrienne Lelli (Jonathan) of Egg Harbor Township, grandmother Marion of Pleasantville, NJ, grandfather John F. Clabby of Red Bank, NJ, former spouse Lindsey of Havre De Grace, MD and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, and nieces spread across the country, also John was fortunate to have shared a deep love with Ashley Bestrom who will hold him in her heart always. Lastly, he leaves behind the love of his life, his daughter Alana of Havre De Grace, MD. A funeral home visitation will be held on Thursday, May 25, from 5pm to 8pm at Rone Funeral Service, 1110 East Chestnut Avenue, Vineland, NJ. A funeral mass will be held on Friday morning at 10:30am from Saint Padre Pio Parish - Church Of Our Lady Of Pompeii, 4680 Dante Avenue, Vineland. Interment will be held in Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ at 1:30pm.
