Obituary of John B. Bertino

John Baptist Bertino age 90 died at Inspira Health on January 29, 2016. He was born in Vineland to the late Joseph and Marie (Virano) Bertino and resided there all of his life. Prior to his death he was a resident at the Veterans Memorial Home with his wife Rita. John attended Vineland High school and then proudly served his country as a US Marine in World War II where he was stationed in the South Pacific. After the war he attended Purdue University where he graduated with a civil engineering degree. John worked for Taylor Weissman Engineering in Cherry Hill, NJ and then the owner and founder of Bertino Engineering for over 30 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading, and spending time with his grandchildren. One of his greatest pleasures was telling stories at family gatherings. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church and Bobby Bee Hunting Club. He was also very active as a member of the National Society of Civil Engineers. John is survived by his wife of 60 years.Rita (Dallago) Bertino of Vineland, his daughter and her husband Anne (Bertino) and Bernard Lapinsky of Voorhees and son William Bertino of Taipei City. Two grandchildren Emily Rose Lapinsky of Voorhees and Brian Bertino of Burbank California his sister Connie (Bertino) Giuliani of Vineland. He is also survived by sister in law Rita Bertino and brother and sister-in-law John and Rose Bianchi all of Vineland, and many nieces and nephews along with great nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his brother Ernest Bertino,brother and sister-in-law. Albert and Barbara Dallago, brother-in-law Joseph Giuliani.
