Obituary of Paul J Ambrose

Paul Joseph Ambrose, 79 of Milmay passed away suddenly on March 7, 2014. He was born in Vineland to the late Philip J. and Madeline F. (Fiori) Ambrose where he resided before moving to Milmay in 1957. Paul was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School in Vineland class of 1951, where he played for the schools baseball and basketball teams. Paul was the Cumberland County foul shooting champion and was named All Star Basketball player. He served in the United States Army obtaining the rank of Sergant, nearing the end of the Korean War. One of the founders of Ambrose Mechanical, Paul worked along side of his father and brothers in the family business, and retired in 1998 as president of the company. Paul was a member of the Menanico Gun Club, and a past member of the North Italy Club, and the Milmay Volenteer Fire Company. A member of St. Padre Pio Parish, he also was an avid gardener, fisherman, hunter, he leaves behind his favorite K9 companion Sam. Paul lived and died a Philadelphia Phillies fan. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Sarah "Sally" Ann (Bullock) Ambrose, two sons and their wives; Paul Jr. and Barbara Ambrose, Joseph and Cynthia Ambrose, his grandchildren Rachel, Amanda, Hillary, Dominic, Patrick, and Caitlin. He is also survived by his three brothers, Thomas, John, and Joseph, and sister, Barbara Orlandini. Paul was predeceased by his son Thomas and brother Philip.
