Obituary of Lewis D'Ippolito

Lewis H. D'Ippolito, cherished father and grandfather, died on November 26, 2013 enveloped in the love of his family and friends. Lewis attended Peddie Prep School and graduated from Peirce College in 1949 with a degree in business. Lewis became a certified gemologist and owned The Donahey Store in Vineland, following in the footsteps of his father. His other business ventures included management of rental properties and he served as treasurer of Buena Vista County Club and on the board of Heritage Bank. Lewis delighted in vacationing with his family in Florida, Night in Venice in Ocean City and holiday celebrations and Sunday dinners. Lewis enjoyed his time on the water, boating, fishing and golfing. Lewis is survived by his daughter Lisa and her husband Joseph Sloan, daughter Anita and her husband Scott MacDonald, son Lewis and his wife Rose D'Ippolito, and his grandchildren Christopher and Lara Sloan, Danielle, Douglas and Madeline MacDonald, and Lewis and Julia D'Ippolito. Lewis was predeceased by his parents Angelo B. and Columbina D'Ippolito, and his beloved eldest child, Christina D'Ippolito. Over the years, Lewis kept in constant contact with his family and friends, always lovingly concerned and supportive of their needs. Lewis and his family are most appreciative of the kind, gentle care of the doctors and nurses of Inspira Hospital and Compassionate Care Hospice during his last illness and final days of his journey. A Church Visitation will be on Saturday, November 30 from 9am to 11:00am followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:15 am from Christ The Good Shepherd Parish - Church Of Saint Isidore The Farmer, 1655 Magnolia Road, Vineland, NJ.
