Obituary of Frank M DeCesero

Frank DeCesero, Sr. Korea Veteran After a brief illness, Frank passed away peacefully at home Thursday, May 2 with his wife and family by his side. Frank was born in the province of Gorizia, Italy and came here at age 20. His name has been inscribed on the American Immigration Wall of Honor on Ellis Island, NY harbor. He was in the US Army, 1st Calvary Division, 8th Engineer Battalion serving in Korea on the (DMZ) De Militarized Zone and received an honorable discharge. He was presented with the Atlantic County Veterans Service medal and received a letter of appreciation from the president of the Republic of Korea. Frank was a member of St. Michael's Church, Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Parish, Minotola; a proud member and trustee of the VFW post 158 of Buena; a member of the operating Engineers Local 825. He was a past member of the Minotola Fire Co. and Rescue Squad, North Italy Club, Landisville Gun Club, and was a part-time Buena police office in the 1960's. Frank enjoyed woodworking, metal fabrication, gardening, cooking, hunting, and fishing; but most of all he enjoyed being with his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Irene (Mattera); sons Anthony Sr. (Brenda), Frank Jr. (Lisa), and daughter Deanna (Vincent) Vinciguerra; grandsons Anthony Jr., Francesco, Christopher, Michael, and Angelo DeCesero; sisters Cesarina (Carmen) Croce of Vineland, Louise Veluscek of Ohio, and brother Alessandro of Italy. He was predeceased by his parents Antonio and Anna (Cattani) DeCesero, brother Mario, sisters Marie Francis and Silvia Paoli. Services will be …………
