Obituary of Diane Melfi

Diane (Mennone) Melfi, 92, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, February 7, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. Diane was born in 1920 to James and Mary Mennone of Cherry Street in Vineland. As ayoung women she worked in several local clothing factories as a seamstress and later for Newcomb Hospital. She married Nicholas Melfi and together they raised three children. She loved spending time with her family. her greatest legacy was her smile and positive attitude. "Dinah" lived her life by the same motto that she often taught her children ansd grandchildren. "If you must do something, do your best and with a smile on your face". Her infamous quote "laughter is good for the soul", was always followed after a hearty laugh and treasured by her family. Her work ethic was exemplary, as well as her willingness to help anyone she met. The family would like to express their gratitude to Compassionate Care Hospice, Bayada Nursing and neighbor, Nilda melendez for their help and support.
