Obituary of Michael McCarthy

Michael Ronald McCarthy, 67, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 6, 2010 at Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia. He was born in Newark on January 4, 1943 to the late Irene (Costello) McCarthy and William McCarthy. Michael was a lifelong resident of New Jersey, having moved to Maplewood and then to Vineland. He served many years in full time ministry and also opened his house to a Christian Home Fellowship that met weekly at his residence. His primary interests were serving in the church, ministering to those in need and being a good friend to those who knew and loved him. He is survived by his wife, Cindy (Standiford) McCarthy; his children, Michael, Jr. of Vineland; William of Lutz, FL; Dina and Derek of Surprise, AZ; and nine Grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister Patricia Zito. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday at 7:00 pm, with visitation from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Calvary Chapel, 930 N. Main Road, Vineland. The Service will be officiated by Pastor Frank Ippolito, a close friend to Michael for many years.
