Obituary of Lori A. Petronglo

Lori Petronglo, 74, of Pittsgrove, NJ, passed away surrounded by loved ones on August 27th following a long illness. The second of Mary and Lawrence Scarpa's six children, Lori was born in 1952. She grew up in Newfield and discovered her love of performing as a student at Vineland High School, where she participated in theatre and served as co-captain of the drill team. Lori worked her way through college, earning a bachelor's degree from Glassboro State. After graduation, Lori began her professional life as a 4th grade teacher in Fairfield Township. Though Lori went on to have several careers, she returned to teaching throughout her life. Lori saw new beginnings in all seasons, always believing that tomorrow could bring something better than before, and that with hard work and dedication, dreams could be realized. A talented singer, Lori shared her gift with others by serving as church cantor for many years and performing with the Singing Ambassadors. Lori's love of music was most present during Thanksgiving and Christmas. Year after year, she looked forward to her annual Black Friday shopping trip, loved hosting her sisters and her many nieces and nephews, and of course, played Christmas music enthusiastically until January. Lori admired the beauty of the natural world. She spent the spring and summer months caring for her garden at her home in Pittsgrove, a tradition her husband Eddie carries on. When her daughters were young, Lori delighted in their summers spent together in her beautiful garden, at the Elmer Swim Club, and on their annual visit to see her sister in Wildwood. Lori reflected upon these summers with her daughters as the happiest times of her life. Lori is survived by her daughters, Aimee Petronglo of Richland, NJ, Kaitlyn Petronglo (Ky Hoang) of Richmond, VA, and Jenna Petronglo of Philadelphia, PA; husband Eddie Petronglo of Pittsgrove, NJ; mother Mary Scarpa of Williamstown, NJ; sisters, Mary Alimenti of Vineland, NJ and Lorraine Phillips of Fort Myers, FL; brother Lawrence Scarpa Jr. of Clayton, NJ; and many nieces and nephews. Lori was predeceased by her sisters Vicki Lolli and Kandi Greiser, and her father Lawrence Scarpa.
