Obituary
Obituary of Richard William LeDent Sr.
Richard W. LeDent, 85, of Millville, NJ passed away on August 9th, 2026, at home surrounded by family.
He was born in 1940 to parents Thelma and Melvin LeDent of Audubon Park, NJ. He graduated from Audubon High School in 1960 and enlisted in the US Air Force where he was stationed in Greece. Greek food became his all-time favorite.
After his tour of duty, he met and fell in love with his wife Lois. They married in May 1965 and set up house in Haddon Heights, NJ. The next year they welcomed a daughter and two years later a son. They were very active in the Jaycees and had many friends.
Rick held many interesting jobs but none that he loved more than antique dealer and collector. On any given weekend you could find him at flea markets buying and selling and making new friends. Bottles and postcards were his favorites but anything old and cool sparked his interest. He also loved fishing, bottle digging, music, especially doo-wop and football. In 1977 the family moved to Millville and then Dorchester NJ. In 1987 he and Lois moved to Clearwater Florida where they eventually retired. In 2021 he moved back to Millville to be with family.
He was active on eBay, buying and selling. He loved anything peanut butter, especially peanut butter and cheese sandwiches and Reese's and was often seen eating cheese steaks, pretzels and olives. Always quick with a joke or a funny story or song he was beloved by so many. He loved hanging out with family, especially his grandchildren and great grand kids and his daughter-in-law Michelle, who took wonderful care of him up until the very end. He will be greatly missed by she and all of us and will live forever in our hearts.
Predeceased by his loving wife Lois, son Bobby; granddaughter Nora; brother Melvin and parents Melvin and Thelma LeDent. Survived by daughter Denise (Clarissa); son Rick (Michelle); his grandchildren Gage, Kara, Ian and Cole and his great grandchildren Ozzy and Ivy.
As per his wishes no funeral services are to be held.
