Obituary of Lauralee J. Malat

Laura Malat of Vineland passed away on August 2, 2026. She was a woman who cherished the simple pleasures of life. She lived for Keebler cheese-and-peanut-butter crackers, the occasional Coors Light Beer, domestic Swiss cheese, and her coffee from Wawa black with a bit of ice in it. It always had to be from Wawa. Anywhere else wouldn't do. She especially loved puppy kisses from her many four-legged "boyfriends"-most notably King Chivalry aka King Arthur, Toby, and Buddy. Laura liked her hard rock and heavy metal music loud and kept the radio set to 93.3 WMMR. She liked her weather hot because it reminded her of years past spent working on a horse farm. There, she cared for the animals and carried bales of hay nearly as big as she was. She also liked her coffee hot and fresh and could always tell when her coffee came from a stale pot. Laura was never seen without a pair of sunglasses and her hair in a metal clip. She will be remembered for her strength, her spirited personality, and the love she shared in the small, everyday moments that made life meaningful. She is survived by her devoted husband Jack Malat; loving daughter Elora Kay Malat and loyal nephew Ben Malat, who will miss her deeply. She was predeceased by her father Harry David Kuss A funeral home visitation will be held on Friday, August 7, 2026, from 2pm to 3pm followed by a funeral service at 3pm from Rone Funeral Service, 1110 East Chestnut Avenue, Vineland.
