Obituary of Richard Schossig

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Richard Schossig, on Tuesday, June 30, at 9:30 PM. A proud Catholic and a lifelong resident of Vineland, Dad was deeply loved by many and brought a special light to the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Dad found his greatest joy in the simple, beautiful moments of life. He had an endless love for the outdoors, whether he was relaxing at the beach, casting a line and fishing in any and every way he could, or hitting the trails on his mountain bike. Above all else, his heart belonged to his family and his extensive circle of friends, with whom he loved to spend his time. He leaves behind a legacy of love and is survived by his three sons: Richard Anthony Schossig Junior and his children, Noah and Ryder; Nicholas Schossig and his wife, Giselle, and their son, Nicolao; and Zachary Schossig and his wife, Alyssa. He is also survived by his brother, Jimmy Melchiore; his sister, Debbie Eckerdt, and a wonderful extended family. He is now peacefully reunited with his brother, John Schossig, who predeceased him. A funeral home visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 7th from 1pm to 2pm followed by a funeral service at 2pm from Rone Funeral Service, 1110 East Chestnut Avenue, Vineland to honor, remember and celebrate his life. Final disposition will be private.
