Obituary of Dorothy Borzacchiello

Dorothy Borzacchiello of Minotola passed away peacefully on April 28, 2026, after a brief illness. Dorothy was born in Landisville to the late Frank and Maria (Moreno) DeStefano. She grew up in Landisville and remained there until 1953 when she married the love of her life, Vincent "Kelly" Borzacchiello and moved to New York City. They had two daughters. Although she had big city style and loved shopping first with her sister then with her daughters, she missed her siblings and the country life. In 1970, they moved back to Landisville. Once back in her familiar territory, she enjoyed the casinos, bus trips and many social activities. She was dancing well into her 90's. She was a big Phillie's fan and would give her opinion about the players and the managers. Once Dorothy became a grandmother, you could find her with Kelly at various sport events and was not beyond bribing them with a $1.00 for a home run or special achievement. As a true Italian grandmother, she loved feeding the family. Monday night extended family dinners were a staple for many years. Her specialties were homemade soup (a Thanksgiving favorite); meatballs (softer than butter); and Zuccarini cookies (with icing on both sides). In her later years she enjoyed spending time with her eight great grandchildren. Although she couldn't be in attendance for many games, she still offered the occasional bribe for a homerun or goal. In keeping up with inflation, her reward went to $5.00. Dorothy will be sadly missed by her daughters Karen Sansalone and Maryann Szeliegowski (Charles); grandchildren Jamie (Keith), Robert (Vanessa), Matthew (Eleni) and Lisa; great grandchildren Cooper, Brooke, Cole, Samantha, Alexandra, Gianna, Drew and Aria. She will be greatly missed by many nieces and nephews with whom she was very close, and the wonderful friends she made throughout her 98 years. She was predeceased by her husband, Kelly, of 50 years, her parents, six siblings and their spouses and her husband's family or in-laws. Dorothy left a legacy of love, fun, creativity and laughter and will be truly missed by those who had the pleasure of spending time with her. Special thanks to her caretakers, Marvella and Marcia, and the care team that helped in these last few months. A church visitation will be held on Monday, May 4th from 9:45am to 11:45am followed by a funeral mass at 12pm from Our Lady Of The Blessed Sacrament - Church Of Our Lady Of Victories, 202 Northwest Boulevard, Landisville. Interment will follow in Our Lady Of Victories Cemetery, Landisville.
