Obituary of John "Bunky" D. Dalesandro

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John Donato "Bunky" Dalesandro, who departed this life peacefully on April 18, 2026. John was born in 1938, in Newcomb Hospital, Vineland, New Jersey to John Anthony and Helen Schroeder Dalesandro. John was a dedicated husband to Carol, his loving wife of 65 years, and a devoted father to John (Ivy), Michael (predeceased) and David (Claudia) Dalesandro. He was a proud grandfather to four grandchildren: Angela, Christa, Nicola, and Sarah. John was a hardworking man who built a career as the Director of Guidance at Vineland High School. He was a graduate of Vineland High School, where he served as President of his class all four years. He earned his undergraduate degree at Villanova University and a master's degree at Temple University. "Bunky" as he was known to his friends, was a lifelong resident of Vineland and well-liked by countless former students, whom he assisted in planning and achieving their future educational goals, whether that be undergraduate school, the military, or trade school. His primary focus in life; however, was always home and family. He valued, above all else, time spent with his wife, children, and grandchildren. Other favorite pastimes included cruise travel, thoroughbred racing, playing pinochle, and cheering on the Eagles and Phillies. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John's memory to Habitat for Humanity or to St. Jude's Hospital. A funeral home visitation will be held on Thursday evening, April 23rd from 6pm to 8pm at Rone Funeral Service, 1110 East Chestnut Avenue, Vineland, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be held Friday morning, April 24th at 11am from Saint Padre Pio Parish - Church Of Our Lady Of Pompeii, 4680 Dante Avenue, Vineland. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Vineland.
