Obituary of Lenore Scholefield

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Lenore Scholefield (née Porch) on April 5, 2026, at 83 years old. Lenore lived a full and meaningful life marked by a strong dedication to her family and friends. She was loyal, funny, and full of energy. Born and raised in Landisville, NJ, Lenore was the adored only child of Lee and Lenore (née Grimaldi) Porch. She grew up surrounded by a tight-knit extended Italian family of which she had many fond memories and stories that she later enjoyed sharing with her own children and grandchildren. She spent many evenings "riding the Avenue" as a teenager and loved to reminisce on her fun times in high school. She married her high school sweetheart, Jim, who always remained the love of her life. They had three children, Dawn, James, and Scott, whom they raised in Landisville surrounded by family. Lenore, Jim, and their children later moved to Asbury Park, NJ, where Lenore enjoyed sunny days at the beach and developed a lifelong love of Bruce Springsteen, an appreciation she passed on to her kids. Lenore and Jim then settled in Dallas, Georgia, and enjoyed a more rural lifestyle—including a burro, a couple of goats, a cat, and many dogs. Later, she worked as a preschool assistant, an experience she came to cherish. After retiring, she decided to join her daughter and youngest grandchildren in Medford Lakes, NJ. She spent her time cooking and caring for her family, and she enjoyed driving her trademark "Windveil Blue" mustang around the Lakes. She was able to reconnect with her friends from high school and had standing Friday's with "the girls," going to lunch and playing cards. Lenore's beautiful smile and optimistic spirit will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Naturally creative, she had multiple artistic talents including sewing, jewelry-making, and culinary arts. She enjoyed listening to music and watching sports, especially football (Go Noles!), baseball, and tennis. Lenore showed her love through food, always making sure that everyone had enough to eat. She often spent hours in the kitchen preparing a meal for her family to gather around. Above all, she loved her family, and she relished the accomplishments of her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild. Lenore is predeceased by her parents, Lenore and Lee Porch, and her beloved husband James "Jim" Scholefield. She is survived by her three children Dawn, James H., and Scott; her daughters-in-law Melissa and Susan; her six grandchildren James P. (Andrea), Justin, Nicholas, Alyssa, Lee, and Mairi; and her great-granddaughter Tatum. A funeral home visitation will be held on Friday, April 10th from 9am to 10am followed by a funeral service at 10am from Rone Funeral Service, 1110 East Chestnut Avenue, Vineland. Interment will follow in Our Lady Of Victories Cemetery, Landisville.
