Obituary of Louis M. Giercyk

Malaga – Louis Giercyk, 92, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on April 5, 2026. He was born on November 5, 1933, to Frank and Mary (Merlock) Giercyk. He dedicated his life to his family and friends. Lou graduated from Vineland High School in 1952. Soon after, he married the love of his life, Barbara. Before her passing they celebrated 63 years of marriage. He was an electrician by trade and a member of IBEW local 351. Skilled in many trades, he shared this knowledge with youth as a 4-H leader. Lou enjoyed playing the piano, collecting unique clocks and his model train collection. In his retirement years, he spent many hours creating unique baskets and ornaments through woodworking. He is survived by his brother, Albert Giercyk; his daughters Cindy Grochowski (Eddie), Debbie Albano-Chappius (Russ), and Rhonda Oliva (Brian). Also left to cherish his memory are his grandsons, Ryan Albano, Justin Oliva (Mollie), Brad Oliva (Whitney), and Josh Grochowski (Kim) as well as 7 great-grandchildren whom he adored. He was predeceased by his sister, Theresa Gallo; his brother, Frank Giercyk; brother-in-law, Daniel Tabor; and his loving grandson, Michael Albano. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. A funeral home visitation will be held on Thursday, April 9th from 10am to 12pm followed by a service of remembrance at 12pm from Rone Funeral Service, 1110 East Chestnut Avenue, Vineland. Final disposition will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Michael Albano Memorial Fund, 2179 Adler Lane, Vineland, NJ 08361.
