Obituary of Sister Carmel Marie Paroli D.M.

Sister Carmel Marie Paroli, a member of the Daughters of Our Lady of Mercy Community, entered into eternal rest on April 2, 2026, at Misericordia Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, York, PA, where she resided for the last three years. Sister Carmel Marie was born March 12, 1942, in Springfield, MA to Angelo and Mary (Nostin) Paroli. She entered her Religious Community in September 1960, and professed vows August 15, 1963. She earned a BA degree in Elementary Education and taught for many years in Camden Diocese, NJ, Harrisburg Diocese, PA, Scranton Diocese, Springfield Diocese, MA, and Worcester Diocese, MA. She also served as Principal in the dioceses of Camden and Springfield. She then earned a License in Nursing Home Administration, and worked as Administrator of Misericordia, York, PA, for 17 years. She will forever be remembered for her sense of humor, her love of adventure, her dedication to her Community, Family and friends, and her untiring zeal to spread God's love to the lives she touched. She is predeceased by her parents; her brother Angelo; her sisters Delores Sidelinker, Flora Hoyle, and Edith Paroli. She leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and her Religious Sisters. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Misericordia Chapel Wednesday, April 8th at 3:00 p.m. by Rev. Damon Tritle.
