Obituary of Ana I Flores
Ana Isabel Flores, age 89, of Vineland NJ, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, February 14, 2026.
Born on January 19, 1937, in Cuba, Ana was the only child of Santiago Flores (†1996) and Ana Flores (†1978). In 1971, she immigrated to the United States with her parents, her husband, and her two young sons, Sam and Carlos, in pursuit of opportunity and a better future for her family.
It takes great courage to begin a new life in a new country. Ana was undeterred by such challenges, knowing her efforts would ultimately lead to a rewarding life for her children. After studying to become a CNA, Ana enjoyed a long career at Bishop McCarthy Residence, retiring after many years of dedicated service to her patients. Her commitment to serving and helping others continued throughout her retirement as she generously shared her time and her finances with those in need, a reflection of her deep Christian faith. It gave Ana great joy to know that through her commitment to live by the principles of Jesus Christ, she truly made a positive difference in people's lives.
Because of Ana's passion for gardening, she spent much of her leisure time surrounded by vibrant, fragrant, and colorful flowers. Her eyes would light up when her plants began to bloom and grow, inviting a multitude of bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds to her backyard sanctuary, sparking fond memories and descriptive stories of her beloved Cuba.
She is survived by her loving sons, Sam (Shirley) and Carlos (Erica); five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren, all of whom carry forward her legacy of faith, resilience, and determination.
Ana's life stands as a testament to courage, sacrifice, and enduring love. Her influence will continue to guide her family for generations to come.
