Major N. Collins Obituary

Major N. Collins passed away on February 8, 2026, at the age of 83. Born on March 5, 1942, he grew up in Absecon graduating from Pleasantville High School in 1960 and was a resident of Vineland for over 47 years.

Major was employed as an electrical salesman for multiple companies including Pullen, National and Billows Electric for over 45 years. A devout Catholic, he was a level 3 member of Knights of Columbus. Together, he and his wife enjoyed trips to Longwood Gardens, Cape May, and dining out, specifically to The Crab Trap in Somers Point. Some of his hobbies included woodworking, reading, listening to country music, watching western tv shows that he referred to as "cowboys", and photography at family gatherings. Major was a loving husband and a devoted father who greatly enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He consistently looked forward to attending their sporting events and school functions, supporting them proudly as only their Pop-Pop could do.

Major is survived by his beloved wife of over 60 years, Loretta (Colona); his son & daughter in-law, Joseph & Michelle of Elk Township; son Timothy of Parkville, MD; grandson Quinn and his wife Sara; his great-grandson Cooper, and his granddaughter Erin, all of Elk Township, NJ, as well as his sister Leona of Absecon and 18 female cousins. He was predeceased by his father Norris Collins and mother Henrietta (Klossman) of Absecon, NJ and his father-in-law Floyd Colona and mother-in-law Eleanor (Sprangers) of Somers Point, NJ.
