Brenda C. Conner Obituary

Brenda Cheryl Conner (Lamnin), a woman of profound strength, intelligence, and melody, passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. She met her final days with the same raw courage and unyielding spirit that defined her life.

Born and raised in Vineland, New Jersey, Brenda's journey was one of constant growth. Following high school, she proudly served her country as a United States Marine. She returned to Vineland to raise her children, before moving to Michigan to build her dream home. She happily spent the last 30 years of her life there.

Brenda was a woman of many talents and incredible work ethic. In her early career, she ran Zef's in Vineland and the Grand Old House in Bridgeton. Later, she obtained her CDL, took to the open road with B.C. Trucking, and eventually taught at Canterbury Career Driving School. With a desire to achieve greater success, Brenda attended college to become a Radiology Technician.

Brenda's heart was as large as her ambition. Throughout her life, her home was a sanctuary for those she loved. Her door was always open to family and friends in need; notably, she provided a home and care for her parents. To Brenda, family wasn't just a word-it was a lifetime commitment of support and presence.

Music was Brenda's refuge. A lifelong pianist, she let the keys speak when words fell away. At age fifty, she taught herself to play the guitar, a testament to her endless love of music.

While she held many titles, her favorite was "Mimsie." The arrival of her granddaughter, Sloane, was one of the greatest joys of her life. Their bond was immediate and radiant.

Brenda is survived by her devoted children: her son, Laurence (Cheyanne); her daughter, Tchesha (Frederick); her extraordinary granddaughter, Sloane; and her two loyal canine companions, Skylar and Lily.

Arrangements were held private.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any contributions in Brenda's memory be made to Hospice Care South Jersey, in gratitude for the care and comfort provided during her final journey.

Brenda's song continues. It continues in the gardens she planted, the music she played, and the fierce love she instilled in her family. She is deeply loved. She is deeply missed.

ARRANGEMENTS are under the supervision of Rone Funeral Service, 1110 East Chestnut Avenue, Vineland, NJ 08360
