Obituary of Barbara H. Estelle
Barbara Hazel Estelle, 87, of Coatesville, Pennsylvania (formerly of Vineland/Millville, NJ), passed away peacefully on January 3, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of creativity, kindness, and quiet strength that touched everyone who knew her.
She is survived by her devoted daughter, Barbara Sterchele, and son in law James Sterchele; her three grandchildren, Ashley Sterchele and her husband Zach Curtis, Justin Sterchele and his wife Sarah Mason, and Joshua Sterchele; her cherished great granddaughter, Aureliana Estella Curtis, born just days before Barbara's passing and her nephew and nieces Myron Estelle, Heather Mackey Johns Scheie Horne and Susie Estelle Murtagh. Barbara is predeceased by her husband, William Henry Estelle; her sister, Joan Carpani; and parents, Quinton and Marjorie Carpani. Her family was her pride, her joy, and the heart of her world.
Barbara was an avid artist whose hands were rarely still. In her later years, after a fulfilling career as a regional jewelry sales manager at Value City Department Stores, she found deep fulfillment in painting and crafting birdhouses, which she sold at local craft shows and gifted generously to friends and family. She also created traditional wooden wall hangings and nurtured a beloved collection of cactus and succulent plants, each one tended with the same care she offered the people around her.
A respected and beloved member of the Spring Run Estates community in Coatesville, Pennsylvania, Barbara shared her artistic gifts as an instructor for small groups at the community center. Her classes were more than lessons, they were gatherings of warmth, encouragement, and companionship. Barbara had a gift for listening, for offering comfort, and for making others feel seen and supported.
Her presence was gentle but steady, her creativity boundless, and her compassion unwavering. She will be deeply missed by her family, her friends, her students, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.
