Obituary of Harold Block

Harold M. Block, 97, formerly of Vineland and most recently of Marlton, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2026, surrounded by family. Harold, son of the late Dora and Irwin Block of Vineland, was the beloved husband of Claire (Heimann), with whom he shared 71 years of marriage. Together, they built a life rooted in family, community, and quiet generosity. He was a devoted father to Irwin Block (Patricia), Bobbi LeVine (Rick, z"l), Lisa Weiser (Ricky), and Allen Block (Susan); a proud grandfather of eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, and beloved uncle to Ileen Branderbit and David Branderbit (Gina). He is predeceased by his sister Phyllis Branderbit (Bernie). A man of action rather than words, Harold showed his love by being there when it mattered most. He stepped in without fanfare, solved problems, and took care of what needed to be done, often before anyone had to ask. Whether helping a child navigate the process of buying a home or quietly handling important details others didn't see, he was the person everyone relied on. Harold built a long and successful career in real estate, both as a real estate broker and landlord. He served for many years as President of the Cumberland County Board of Realtors and was a Century 21 franchise owner. He was active for many years in synagogue life, first at Sons of Jacob Congregation and later at Beth Israel Congregation in Vineland. Above all else, Harold was known as the provider and protector. He leaves behind the legacy of a devoted husband, a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and a steady presence whose influence lives on through the family he protected and provided for. Donations in Harold's memory may be made to Beth Israel Congregation, 1015 East Park Avenue. Vineland, NJ 08360 or Chevra Kadisha of Alliance, P.O. Box 934, Vineland, NJ 08362. Friends and family will be received on Monday, January 5th, 2026 from 10am to 11am followed by a funeral service at 11am from Rone Funeral Service, 1110 East Chestnut Avenue, Vineland. Interment will follow in Alliance Cemetery, Norma.
