Obituary of Anthony Casadia
Anthony Casadia, 83, of Williamstown, formerly of Landisville, passed away peacefully at home after an extended illness. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marie, and their daughters and their husbands, who were like sons to him, Rita and John Shicunoff, Gina and Wayne Mason, and Monica and Mike Trudeau. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren, Eric Shincunoff, Nicholas (Brooke Brown) and Cody Mason, and Michael, Anthony, and Mary Trudeau, his sisters Joann (Andrew) Sangataldo and Toni (Duke) Mattioli; his sister-in-law Valerie Casadia, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his beloved grandson Dean Mason; his brother Jim Casadia; his parents Anthony and Rita Casadia, and his stepmother Marie Casadia.
Anthony started dating Marie when they went to his Vineland High School senior prom together in 1961, and they've been together ever since. He retired from the Buena MUA after 37 years in 2006. Before that, he owned his own plumbing business.
He enjoyed skiing, playing golf, going out to eat, traveling (including 10 extended trips to Italy), listening to Motown and doo wop, and watching the Phillies and Eagles. More than anything, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He attended all their sports and activities, drove them anywhere they needed, and took them out to eat and on vacation. They will always treasure memories of staying with their grandparents for days at a time, all seven of them staying up late, playing games, eating junk food, and being spoiled by them. He was a role model to his children and grandchildren and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A funeral home visitation will be held on Saturday, November 29th from 10am to 12pm followed by a funeral service at 12pm from Rone Funeral Service, 1110 East Chestnut Avenue, Vineland. Final disposition will be at the convenience of the family.
ARRANGEMENTS are under the supervision of Rone Funeral Service, 1110 East Chestnut Avenue, Vineland, NJ 08360
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105
